Cocoa arrivals at ports in Ivory Coast, the world’s largest cocoa producer, are continuing to underperform this season, reinforcing concerns that global supply tightness will persist well into 2025/26.

According to data reported by Reuters, cumulative cocoa arrivals since the start of the season on October 1 reached 1.233 million metric tonnes by February 1, representing a 4.4% decline year-on-year. While the headline seasonal deficit remains moderate, the most recent weekly data point reveals a far sharper deterioration in flows.

Between January 26 and February 1, arrivals totaled just 33,000 tonnes, a steep 47.4% drop compared with the same week last season. Of this volume, approximately 15,000 tonnes were delivered to the port of Abidjan, while 18,000 tonnes reached San Pedro.
