Ivory Coast Cocoa Grind Rises Slightly in February Despite Seasonal Decline

Ivory Coast’s cocoa processing activity recorded a modest increase in February, with total grind volumes rising 1.1% year-on-year, according to data released by the national exporters’ association.

Processors handled approximately 53,058 metric tons of cocoa beans during the month. Despite the annual increase, cumulative grind volumes for the 2025/26 season (which began in October) reached 280,530 tons by the end of February, representing a 5.9% decline compared to the same period in the previous season.

The reported figures reflect output from six of the country’s major grinding companies, including leading global operators such as Barry Callebaut, Olam, and Cargill.

Ivory Coast currently maintains an estimated cocoa grinding capacity of around 750,000 tons annually. As the world’s largest cocoa producer, the country competes closely with the Netherlands for the top position in global cocoa processing.
