North American grinding rose to 103,117 tons

In the fourth quarter, North American grinding rose by 356 tons (+0.35%) year on year to 103,117 tons. For comparison, grindings in the previous quarter totaled 112,784 tons. Despite the year-on-year increase, this remains one of the weakest fourth-quarter grinding results of the past 18 years. In addition, one more processing plant reported results this year, bringing the total to 15 compared with 14 in the same period last year. Overall, the outcome was in line with market expectations.
