Cocoa Rally Fades Ahead of Q3 Grindings (14 October 2026)
Cocoa futures surrendered much of their intraday strength on Wednesday, 14 October, with New York finishing lower while London retained a modest gain. New York December reached $6,023/t but failed to hold above $6,000, retreating to a last-traded close of $5,728/t, down $74 (−1.28%) and $295 below its peak. London December climbed to £4,499/t before weakening through the latter part of the session. A late sell-off carried prices below £4,300 before a partial recovery left the contract at £4,327/t, up £25 (+0.58%). Both markets finished in the lower part of their daily ranges, leaving the higher intraday prices largely unrewarded at the close.
