Ivory Coast Cocoa Grindings Edge Up in March, Season Totals Lag Behind
Ivory Coast’s cocoa processing activity increased modestly in March, according to the exporters’ association GEPEX. Grindings rose 1.4% year-on-year to 54,241 metric tons.
Despite the monthly uptick, cumulative grindings for the 2025/26 season—running from October through March—reached 334,771 tons, representing a 4.8% decline compared to the same period last season.
Major processors operating in the country include Barry Callebaut, Olam, and Cargill.
With an estimated total grinding capacity of around 750,000 tons, Ivory Coast remains the world’s largest cocoa producer and competes with the Netherlands for the top position in global cocoa processing.
