Sugar Rebounds with Nearby White Sugar Leading (27 October 2026)
Sugar recovered modestly on Tuesday after Monday’s sharp sell-off. March raws gained 0.52% to 19.20 cents/lb, while December whites rose 0.74% to $519.20/tonne. Both benchmarks traded inside Monday’s ranges, leaving the gaps created by the earlier decline unfilled.
| Contract | Settlement | Daily change | Session range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raw sugar March 2027 | 19.20¢/lb | +0.10¢ / +0.52% | 19.03–19.42¢ |
| White sugar December 2026 | $519.20/t | +$3.80 / +0.74% | $513.80–523.50 |
March raws recovered less than one-tenth of Monday’s 1.14-cent loss, while December whites regained approximately one-fifth of their $19.40 decline. The daily ranges narrowed considerably, and neither benchmark approached Monday’s high.
May raws rose 0.11 cent to 18.64 cents and July gained 0.09 cent to 18.25. London’s recovery was more concentrated: March whites added $2.60 to $531.40/tonne, but May slipped $0.10 to $536.40 and more distant contracts also fell. The improvement was strongest in nearby white sugar rather than across the entire London curve.
