Arabica Extends Its Slide as the December Premium Shrinks (28 October 2026)
Arabica fell for a fifth consecutive session on Wednesday, with December losing 2.38% to settle at 286.75 cents per pound. December again underperformed later deliveries, extending the sharp narrowing of its premium over March.
Robusta declined more moderately. January settled at $3,199 per tonne, down 0.65%, after trading within a comparatively narrow $45 range.
December has now lost 20.70 cents, or 6.73%, since Friday. The correction has continued despite another fall in certified Arabica inventories, as position adjustments, Brazil’s weaker currency and expectations of improving supply outweigh the immediate support from low exchange stocks.
